ABOUT AR EATWELL
AbdarRahman Eatwell doesn't want you to feel bad for not being able to pronounce his name correctly, and then for going back and trying again. He wants to reassure you that most people get it wrong, and that it's actually pronounced Eat-well. But please call him AR.
So why does a blonde haired, green eyed Englishman have such an unusual name?
Back in his hippy days, AR's father hitch-hiked to Morocco and subsequently fell in love with the Moroccan culture. Many years later, he returned with his wife and young family to start a new life in the Mediterranean, and so AR was given a name that meant he wouldn't stand out as much in his new surroundings. Obviously his parents didn't plan on ever returning to England.
His father taught him more than he ever learnt at school. He taught him how to see with a discerning eye, and how to think outside the box. Literally. Instead of a television, he gave him a pencil and paper (this would probably have still been the case even if they could have afforded a television).
His childhood wasn't all unconventional, however. AR did many normal things too, like reading, playing with Lego, and making rubber band guns to kill mosquitos (patent pending). He is sure that his steady hand and good aim with the camera can be traced back to those days.
The family returned to England in 2000 and AR completed his education here. He went on to study at Chelsea College of Art and Design, before returning to Morocco to find the pieces of his heart that he had left behind all those years before. It was only then that he was able to see clearly and find his passion. He focused his creativity on photography and film.
If there is one characteristic you should know about AR, it's that he is a perfectionist. He sees this as a blessing and a curse, but he wouldn't have it any other way. He is (slowly) learning that striving for excellence is much more sensible than striving for perfection in an imperfect world.
He likes travelling, Bryan Adams and a good tagine, preferably with roasted almonds.
He dislikes dishonesty, brussel sprouts, and writing about himself in the third person.
ABOUT REECE CHAPMAN
Reece Chapman is a 25 year old photographer from Buckinghamshire.
His passion for photography was born through his discovery of parkour (or freerunning) which is a sport that uses the body to navigate obstacles by vaulting, jumping and flipping. He picked up his first DSLR camera to capture the beauty of movement and to document what he was doing.
He soon realised how much he loved photography and started to explore other styles like portraiture, landscape and eventually weddings. After shooting his first few weddings he was hooked and instantly knew this was what he wanted to focus on.
Now he's a professional photographer who absolutely loves his job. When he isn't shooting weddings he spends a lot of time photographing landscapes. He loves London and spends a lot of time there finding new locations and different views of the architecture and skyline. Having flexible working hours means he is lucky enough to travel and he'll often go on spontaneous journeys to new places, waking up at 3am to shoot a sunrise or walking for miles down the beautiful english coastline. Wherever he is, he will always have his camera close by!
